The most basic skill that every beader/embroider needs to know is how to thread a needle.

Here's how:

1. Choose your thread. If your thread is too big, it's not going to fit through the eye of the needle!

2. Choose a needle. Make sure the needle is big enough to fit the thread but not so big that it creates large holes in your work.

3. Cut the thread at an angle. If you cut the thread straight, then the fibres will most likely come apart when you try to pass it through the needle.

4. Hold the thread STEADY. If your hands are shaking, the thread will shake too.

5. Thread the needle. Hold the needle between your thumb and your forefinger and pass the thread through the eye of the needle. You may also want to wet the tip of the thread to make it easier.

This holiday-themed peppermint bracelet was made with the circular peyote stitch. I made one bracelet and it was so easy and beautiful that I couldn't stop making these! The original pattern was of a peppermint necklace but I modified it to make it into a bracelet. The bracelet is made with size 11 seed beads and a metal lobster clasp to close it off on the ends. Each peppermint is 2 cm wide and the lobster clasp takes up 2 cm of the bracelet as well. A 14-cm bracelet has 6 peppermints: a 16-cm bracelet has 7 peppermints, and so on. They are on sale on Etsy!

The peyote stitch bracelet is made from size 11 TOHO® beads. The clasps are beaded square stitch clasps. The toggle and loop match the color of the diamonds. These bracelets are for sale online! Choose your preferred color and/or size for a customized bracelet.
Our Etsy shop, SimplyCrafting101, was started in 2013. We only started to post our products online earlier this year, when people started to become interested in them.

So far, we've made around 20 sales offline and more are still coming in! I hope you like our shop :)
